Kisumu born budding songstress, Mia Ivy has hit the music world with a reggae track titled ‘Smooth Errand’. The song is about lovers who have been kept apart due to various reasons including work.
In spite of her challenging school work as a 4th year student at the Pwani University in Kenya, the young singer still had time to compose songs – a thing that demonstrates her longstanding interest in music which spans since 2014.
Mia Ivy, who is also a guitarist, started singing in 2014, where she joined a group of artists in Kisumu, Kenya known as Janeqo Krietiv Mainds. While there, they formed a band called The Creative Band and performed in various platforms around Kisumu City.
A year later, she was approached by Clastar, the CEO and producer of Streetbreeze Records(SBRS) about a session in the studio and later released her first afro-pop song alongside Elvizech Blackangel ‘Don’t Go’. In 2016, Mia collaborated with Clastar and released another jam, ‘Chords for you’.
In 2017, Mia Ivy working in close collaboration with Elvizech Blakangel, released another song titled ‘Queens Vs Kings’ that was produced by Crazy Monkey. Her success led her to be voted Female Artist of the Year for the Kilifi County, as per the Kilifi County Peace Awards 2017.
In the same year, Mia released ‘Feelings’ featuring Kisumu rapper MC Elem.
Mia currently plays alongside the Jambo Africa band in Mombasa,Kenya.
The new song ‘Smooth Errand’ was recorded in Streetbreeze Records, popularly known as SBRS and produced by Crazy Monkey.
