Richest Pastors in Africa and their assets

Forbes has published a  list of richest pastors in the world and the first five are all Nigerians.

Recently, there has been a growing trend of African pastors acquiring private jets. The pope with a million followers doesn’t own a fancy private but charters Alitalia planes. By the very nature of their vocation, the men of God are supposed to live a life of self-abnegation, but the same pastors who preach charity own private jets and flash cars while the congregants languish in poverty. 1. David Oyedepo – Net Worth: $150 Million

Bishop David Oyedepo , founder of the Living Faith World Outreach Ministry is the richest pastor in Nigeria and the world.

Ever since he founded this ministry in 1981, it has grown to become one of Africa’s largest congregations. He hosts three services every Sunday in The Faith Tabernacle. This prosperous pastor owns private jets and homes in the US and the UK.

Bishop David Oyedepo is the richest pastor in Nigeria and the world. He is the founder of the Living Faith World Outreach Ministry.

2.Chris Oyakhilome – Net Worth: $50 Million

Chris Oyakhilome of the Believers’ Loveworld Ministries, also known as Christ Embassy

Chris Oyakhilome’s church Christ Embassy has more than 400,000 members, several of whom are successful entrepreneurs and politicians.

Pastor Chris has diversified interests include magazines, newspapers, a TV station, a record label, hotels, satellite TV and real estate.

3. Temitope Joshua – Net Worth: $15 Million

Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua is Nigeria’s most powerful, controversial and philanthropic preacher. He heads the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), a congregation he founded in 1987.

The christian minister, televangelist and faith healer is a big giver; his humanitarian works include education, healthcare and rehabilitation programs.

He is the owner of Emmanuel TV, a Christian television network.

4. Matthew Ashimolowo – Net Worth: $10 Million

Matthew Ashimolowo of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC)

The Foursquare Gospel Church sent Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo to established a branch in London, that was 1992, but the pastor founded his own church instead.

Matthew Ashimolowo’s Kingsway International Christian Center is the largest Pentecostal church in the United Kingdom. It has assets worth more than $40 million and earns a profit of more than $10 million.

Ashimolowo gets an annual net salary of $ 200,000.He also makes money from his media company called the Matthew Ashimolowo Media.

Chris Okotie was successful musician of the 1980s,in fact a pop singer as that. He became a Christian and set up the Household of God Church, one of Nigeria’s most flamboyant congregations.

His church members includes stars and local celebrities. He is a lover of cars and owns several posh cars which include a Mercedes S600, Rolls-Royce, Hummer and Porsche.

He ran for presidential elections under the banner of Fresh Party, the political party he founded.
